Worcester Wolves 92 (18, 43, 62) (Mugica 26, Blackwell 21, Khan 14)

Glasgow Rocks 85 (19, 40, 57) (Gillis 17, Bunyan 16, Gabau 15)

Worcester Wolves maintained second spot in the BBL Championship after outlasting Glasgow Rocks 92-85 at home on Friday, their second success over the Scottish club in a month.

The hosts trailed for much of the first half but gradually wrestled the initiative as they out-rebounded Rocks 47-30, as expected with the Rocks captain Kieron Achara out due to injury and Ware in foul trouble throughout the game.

Wolves’ advantage began to grow as Javier Mugica sparked a strong start to the fourth quarter on his way to a game-high 26 points.

Perris Blackwell built on his BBL All-Star Five performance of the previous weekend with 21 points and 17 rebounds to hold off Rocks’ response.

Warren Gillis had 17 points for Rocks, but their 37% shooting, coupled with Wolves effective rebounding meant they could not hit back.

This defeat followed a similar reverse at Worcester on the opening night of the season as Rocks slipped to a 2-3 record ahead of their BBL Cup First Round meeting with Leeds Force on Sunday.
