BBL Championship (OT)
Sheffield Sharks 86 (16,38, 56, 75) (Tuck 24, Cook 19, Robinson 18)
Glasgow Rocks 92 (15, 34, 53, 75) (Gillis 27, Achara 17, Ware 14)

Glasgow Rocks rallied from five points down with 30 seconds to play to beat Sheffield Sharks 92-86 after overtime at EIS Sheffield in the BBL Championship on Friday.

An up-and-down contest looked to have swung Sheffield’s way late in the fourth quarter when Mike Cook’s triple opened up a five-point gap.

But Jonny Bunyan responded from long-range before Will Hall completed a drive to the basket to force the extra session, where the Scottish club rode their positive momentum to an important victory.

A hot start to overtime by Gillis became an insurmountable advantage especially when Bunyan once again found the bottom of the net from way downtown to make it 85-76 with two minutes remaining.

Warren Gillis led Rocks’ revival with 27 points as captain Kieron Achara added 17.

Mike Tuck paced Sharks with 24 as Mike Cook and Antone Robinson chipped in with 19 and 18 respectively.

Rocks improve to a 5-6 record, forcing a season series decider with Sharks and climbing above their opponents in the table ahead of Sunday’s home clash with Esh Group Eagles Newcastle.
