25.10.2014: Stirling Knights - Granite City Grizzlies 84:56

One of the busiest basketball schedules ever for the Stirling club last weekend saw a whopping 15 games in one weekend for the players, parents and coaches of the Stirling Knights. This number, plus the 12 games played at the Primary League on Friday, once again shows the progress made in Basketball in Stirling in the four years of the Knights existence.

First up were the Senior Men, who hosted Granite City on Saturday in the last sixteen of the Scottish Cup. Although a Grampian local league team, the visitors were able to field a talented line up and proved a good test for the Knights who had won their last two home games.

Veteran guard David Hannah (32), who sixteen years ago was the Scotland Under 16 Captain, rolled back the years to provide a spark of energy from the bench with his defensive effort. He also got in on the scoring act too laying on many chances to his young team mates. With a half time lead of 39-30, the Stirling Men turned up the tempo and raced away with the second half to eventually progress 84-56 through to a home quarter final against Edinburgh University.

Former Hungarian youth international, Gergo Jenei continued his good form after recovering from injury to lead the team with 20 points with Adam Hammerschmidt on 16, Jack Burgess 15 and Matthew Dick 12.
