26.9.2014: Stirling Knights - Glasgow Rocks 71:74

The Peak rocks in bumper weekend of action for Knights

A packed Peak crowd witnessed a great Senior Men's National League game on Friday night between Glasgow Rocks and  Stirling Knights. With the home team missing some key players, the Knights went down early and, despite some good play, the shots just were not dropping and Knights were down 9 at half time.

A spirited 3rd and 4th quarter saw the Knights take the lead by 3 with 20 seconds left. The roaring home crowd were then silenced by a 3 point shot from the Rocks top scorer Chris Barron who tied the game and sent it into overtime. The Knights rallied but could not close out the game losing 71 - 74.

Coach Mark Duncan said, "Although it is a tough loss and a game we needed to win, there are some positives to take forward into practice this week. The crowd were fantastic and it was a real nail biter to the end."

Top Scorers for Knights were Adam Hammerschmidt with 31, Jack Burgess with 16 and Gergo Jenei with 10.

The men host Glasgow Storm this Friday 8pm at The Peak.
