29.11.2013: Stirling Knights - Dunfermline Reign 72:56
HAMMERTIME for Knights as they brave the Reign
Stirling Knights senior men scored their first win of the season when they hosted Dunfermline Reign at The Peak. With Knights coach Pete Duncan going with two separate fives giving each player a chance to impress, the game ebbed and flowed with both sides taking a small lead and Knights edging it at half time 34-33. In the third quarter the game remained much the same and with Dunfermline taking a 54-50 lead at the start of the fourth quarter the Stirling men had it all to do. With changes made to a strong defensive line up the Knights rattled up a 22-0 run in the last period, finally showing their ability with great defensive stops and fast break scores to take the game 72-56. Austrian Stirling University freshman Adam Hammerschmidt led the Knights in scoring with an incredible 9 out of 12 three point shots made on his way to 33 points. Jeb Spink, Daniel Chok and captain Jack Burgess also chipped in with 7 points a piece to go with some great defensive play.
Knights Coach Duncan "We gave the players a chance to play tonight, so they can learn from their mistakes but in the fourth quarter we went strong and pulled of a 22-2 quarter which was good to see. Adam shot the ball well and is really starting to learn the game in his new position".
